Vibraphonist Red Norvo recorded this with a specially manufactured & amplified new set of vibes, one of only two or three in existence. He made all the necessary arrangements to do this date all by himself - he picked the men & the tunes, from Charlie Shavers' "Undecided" to the semi-traditional song "Hindustan." He summoned his favorite pianist, the hard-swinging Dave McKenna, the new tenor player Scott Hamilton, drummer Connie Kay & bassist Richard Davis. The music is neat & organized, with great solos by all, and it has a lightly-swinging quality which pervades all Norvo discs. Previously deleted: 10/1/09. Original release date: 2/26/02)
