The fact that Kenny Baker was asked to lead the Harry James band after the great trumpeter's death is a testimony to the English trumpeter's ability. Baker came to prominence in the original Ted Heath band, leaving in 1950 to pursue a very successful solo career. He only employed the best British musicians, such as Phil Seaman, George Chisholm, Bill Le Sage & Derek Smith, all heard here. These 22 never before released studio recordings date from the mid-1950s.
