This sextet/septet session was originally released in 1977 by Vanguard, and flugelhornist Clark Terry mostly selected musicians from the big band that he occasionally fronted during the mid-'70s. Features tenor-saxophonist Ernie Wilkins (better-known as an arranger) stretching out as a soloist, and other sidemen include pianist Ronnie Mathews, bassist Victor Sproeles and drummer Ed Soph with guest spots for pianist Walter Bishop and guitarist Roland Prince. It's a particularly strong repertoire with classic ballads such as "Misty" and "Autumn Leaves" alternating with Clark Terry's three colorful originals.
