Actor Ralph Fiennes reads excerpts from author Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," "Something Of Myself," "Kim," and "The Just So Stories," plus poems, including "If..." and "My Boy Jack". The session was recorded in the study at Bateman's, where Kipling lived for the last thirty years of his life. The readings are interspersed with early recordings of music by Elgar, as well as classical Indian music. This CD presents the many sides of Kipling's talents in prose and verse, and shows him to be one of the most versatile English writers of his time.
