This Southern California pop/folk/rock band paid homage to the British Invasion, often wearing uniforms and tall fur hats in an attempt to emulate the guards outside Buckingham Palace. This material is from 1964-67 and features Emitt Rhodes on drums (who later went on to play with Merry-Go-Round). The Palace Guard were the featured band at The Hullaballoo Club in L.A., and Don Grady, most famous for his role in "My Three Sons," played in an earlier version of this band, and would go on to join Yellow Balloon. This CD includes all the Palace Guard's 45s plus two tracks from Emitt's first band The Emeralds. Features liner notes by Terry Rae, who replaced Emitt on drums.
