(2-CD set) Like any other songwriter, Marc Bolan shelved many songs along the way, sometimes returning to them in later years, but often taking them no further than the confines of his private musical library. This ranged in content from the most rudimentary acoustic jottings, Dylan-esque ramblings and vague ideas for concept albums, to full-bodied gospel, romantic ballads, hairy guitar work-outs
and T-Rexcessive band sessions. Here are the best of his "works in progress" from 1972 until his death in 1977. Both discs are arranged chronologically, the first being dedicated to his home demos, whilst the second features the songs he took to the studio to work on with the band. Includes 16 pg. color booklet with notes by Martin Barden.
