The Prisoners epitomize the garage punk sound of the Medway Delta. Contemporaries of Billy Childish, they started out as a 3-piece in 1980 before adding James Taylor (later of JTQ) on organ in '82. They soon gained a strong following, influencing the likes of Tim Burgess of the Charlatans and Radio One DJ Steve Lamacq. This re-issue of their debut album is remastered for the first time from original analog tapes and is joined by 6 additional tracks, including a rare Belgium radio show performance of "Pretend," the previously unheard album out-take "Baby Come Alive" and a live version of their debut single "There's A Time". Also features their first demo session which has 3 unrecorded songs, including early live favorite "Lilac Reflections".
