Michael Coppola began playing guitar at the age of 11. During his teens, he studied jazz with Sal Salvador and classical fingerstyle with Frederic Hand. He has released four albums as a leader and has played as a sideman for Walter Bishop Jr., John Mehegan and Charles McPherson. On this CD, Michael is joined by vocalist Rhonda Thomas, who has performed with many well-known artists in the jazz and R&B worlds, including Luther Vandross, Roy Ayers, Sam Moore and others. Her absolute pitch, great timing and improvisational song styling blend perfectly with Michael's unique and exciting guitar work. Although often described as a combination of Joe Pass/Ella Fitzgerald duo and Tuck & Patti, they have created a sound all their own.
