This is Ace's first exploration of the late '40s hillbilly and western swing masters issued (and, in many cases, originally unissued) during the label's brief flirtation with genres other than blues and R&B. Drawing on material recorded in Texas, Louisiana and Hollywood, this 28 track CD offers many important early recordings by artists who went on to be stars in the '50s and '60s - among them Jimmy Bryant, Ramblin' Jimmie Dolan, Jimmy C. Newman and Link Davis. None of this material has ever seen legal reissue CD. Indeed most of it has never been reissued, legally or otherwise, prior to this CD! Features Rocky Morgan, Tommy Little, Cliff Bruner, Homer Clemons, Bill Woods, Jody Webb, Jack Tucker and others.
