Here are the complete recordings from Jimmy Witherspoon's 1960 sessions that produced the Crown album "Sings The Blues". Spoon is captured doing what he does best - singing the blues with a small combo backing. In addition to the tracks that made the album, there are six more tracks from those sessions, four more from an unlisted session and three single-only releases. These 26 tracks have never before released on CD, while 7 are unissued in any form. 2 surprise cuts are Spoon's take on Hank Williams' "Your Cheatin' Heart" and Jody Reynold's pop hit "Endless Sleep," his third recording of that song - but this one has a fine blues harp on it.
