This long-awaited 24 track follow-up to 2001's acclaimed "King Rockabilly" (ACE #777) consists almost entirely of rare rockabilly and rock 'n roll sides that are new to CD, including three issued here for the first time, all taken directly from the master tapes. Highlights include early rockers by Wes Voight, who later became Chip Taylor under which name he famously wrote the classic "Wild Thing," and rare one-offs such as "What Is Your Technique" by the archly named Ronnie Speeks & his Elrods. Includes previously unissued sides by Delbert Barker and Fuller Todd. The rarity and previous unavailability of these sides, not to mention the contrasting styles of the hard rockin' music, makes this an essential CD.
