(2 albums on one CD) On CD for the first time, here are Matthews' two Elektra releases. “Valley Hi,” produced by former Monkee and country-rock pioneer Michael Nesmith in 1973, is Ian's most overtly country album. Featuring the Matthews-penned "Keep on Sailing," as well as terrific versions of Steve Young's "Seven Bridges Road" and Jackson Browne's "These Days," this is one of Ian's finest collections. 1974's “Some Days...,” continues the country-rock but with more emphasis on the L.A. singer/songwriter sound and less on straight-forward country. Produced by Matthews, “Some Days...” features David Lindley, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, and the rhythm section of America.
