Bill Cunliffe's Sextet plays the music of Earl Zindars (some of Bill Evans most well known recordings featured songs by Earl Zindars). Since the death of Bill Evans, Earl has continued to improve as a writer, but has largely been overlooked by todays artists. On this CD, Cunliffe arranges classic and new Earl Zindars songs, and the CD features top soloists Bobby Shew, Bob Sheppard and Bruce Paulsen as well as former Bill Evans drummer Joe Labarbarra. Cunliffe is a past winner of the prestigous Thelonious Monk Piano Competition.
