A solo Spanish guitar CD for guitarists, "The Gates of Spain" features the world premier recording of F.M. Torrob's "Puertas de Madrid" along with stunning arrangements of works by Turina, Granados and Albeniz, many of which are recorded for the first time on guitar. As well, the CD includes one of Joaquin Rodrigo's final works, the rarely heard "Un Tiempo Fue Italica Famosa." The five composers represented on this disk were the finest exponents of the Spanish Romantic style, effectively infusing their compositions with the fiery flamenco and folk influences of their native Spain. Performed by the internationally renowned guitarist David Burgess.
