Maxine Sullivan's long overlooked studio recordings from 1953-55 (17 sides in total) are gathered into one collection for the first time. They are restored from the original monaural master source, free of any artificial reverb and other electrical enhancements (which plagued all previous European issued LP/CDs that contained some of these performances). These 17 studio recordings are complimented by 10 equally wonderful "live" and transcription recordings, all of which are available for the first time. The collective personnel include Dick Hyman, Oscar Pettiford, Charlie Shavers, Buster Bailey, Milt Hinton, Vic Ash, and the bands of Lionel Hampton, Ray Bloch, and Harry Sosnik.
