This is Martin Carthy's first new album in over 5 years. With a career that goes back to the early 1960s, he influenced Bob Dylan and Paul Simon and his legendary partnership with fiddler Dave Swarbrick (Fairport Convention) set the standard for folk performances. He was also a member of Steeleye Span and The Watersons and is currently a member of Waterson:Carthy and Brass Monkey. He was awarded an M.B.E. for services to British folk music and was winner of BBC Folk Singer of the year, and he continues to tour almost non-stop. This new CD will prompt a lot of media attention including an interview in Guitar Player in November. This CD features Martin Simpson and daughter Eliza Carthy, who also produced the album.
