Detroit Junior's third album for Blue Suit captures him in the format many Chicagoans see him weekly: alone at the piano. He's played every kind of piano gig there is around Chicago -- but this new album is not just a re-creation of a typical night for him in his hometown. Playing on a unique piano created by sculptor/furniture maker Wendell Castle, this album was recording during the Toledo Museum Of Art's 100th birthday celebration on June 2, 2001. Detroit Junior served up two exhuberant sets of tunes ranging from Nat King Cole to Chuck Berry to Percy Mayfield.
