These "Jazz Information" sides were recorded in Oct. 1942 (released in 1943) by Gene Williams, who captured some of the best music "Bunk" Johnson ever created. The stunning repertoire presented here for the very first time on CD includes rags, popular songs, blues, and more. The 12 titles were originally released on Jazz Information as part of Commodore's releases. Jazzology has acquired these classic recordings from MCA Records under license from Universal Music Enterprises. In addition to the 12 sides, included are two very different takes of "Big Chief Battle Axe" and "Franklin Street Blues" that were issued as a 78 rpm by Purist Records in England.
