Tenor sax star Vido Musso gained fame working with Benny Goodman and Stan Kenton's big bands in the '30s and '40s. Here he is, fronting his own smaller swing group that included Maynard Ferguson, in the early to mid-'50s. Released on CD for the first time, care has been taken to use the finest sound sources available. Vido was also a featured performer in several other big bands of the '30s and '40s including Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, Harry James, Woody Herman, Bunny Berigan, Tommy Dorsey and others. His sax playing was featured on the hits "Sing, Sing, Sing" for Goodman and "Intermission Riff" for Kenton, both featured here.
