Although best known for producing the first two albums by The Band ("Music from Big Pink" and self titled), John Simon also produced Janis Joplin and Big Brother's "Cheap Thrills," Simon and Garfunkel's "Bookends," Leonard Cohen's debut and the first LP by Blood, Sweat and Tears. In 1971, John released this debut solo album on Warner Bros. Similiar to the music of The Band, the songs range from psychedelic nursery rhymes to dream-like confessionals. "Davy's On The Road Again" (later a hit for Manfred Mann), was co-written with Robbie Robertson.
