Veteran pianist Ricardo Scales has for many years honed his contemporary jazz skills in the night clubs and restaurants of the San Francisco Bay Area, and now presents this brand new album containing more of his trademark smooth jazz. This CD also features a couple classic jazz standards that are more upbeat, as well as a few tunes in the style of his classic song "Mujer Latina" from his album "Forever Love" (BYS #1004). "It's A New Day" features drummer James Levi (Headhunters), guitarist Carl Lockett (Chuck Mangione) and bassist Gary Brown (Lou Rawls).
