In the Fifties, Buck Owens was a hot Telecaster picker who travelled south from Bakersfield to a major label building in Hollywood to play on the occasional session, eventually signing to with a major label and having a decade long string of hits that commenced with "Under Your Spell Again" in 1959. Prior to his major label debut, Buck recorded numerous 45s for regional labels such as Bakersfield's Pep. This set collects the best of his gritty early days.
