Here are 28 raw primitive rock instrumentals from the legendary Cuca label of Wisconsin - the farming State caught in a rockin' timewarp while the rest of America wimped out. Best known for the 1960 mega-hit 'Muleskinner Blues' by the Fendermen, as well as the R&B hit 'Spring' by Birdlegs & Pauline, Cuca was a very big deal locally. Owner Jim Kirchstein ran his own studio and even pressed his own records. From 1959-69, he put out hundreds of records on Cuca, Sara and various subsidiaries - mostly rock with a bunch of polka discs thrown for local old-timey folk! 90% of the material is new to CD. Even the original 45s rarely turn up.
