The material was chosen from across the R&B landscape, featuring songs originally recorded by Sam & Dave, Sam Cooke, Lee Dorsey, B.B. King on the male side while the female point of view comes from the repertoires of Maxine Brown, Etta James and the Ikettes and includes a gender-switched treatment of Theola Kilgore's 'The Love Of My Man'. These two 1966 albums were recorded in the same sessions with Bobby Scott's band - the one Chuck used on the road - so there is an excellent rapport between Chuck and his musicians. The booklet also includes reproductions of the original artwork and notes.
