Sal Valentino was the lead singer of the legendary 1960s San Francisco folk-rock pioneers The Beau Brummels. When Fat Pete Records asked Texas Music Hall of Famer Freddie Steady Krc (Freddie Steady 5, Shakin' Apostles, Roky Erickson & The Explosives) to be their house producer, he immediately thought of Sal. Recorded at Elmo's Lab in Austin, TX in late Oct. 2005, these 11 great "folk-rock" songs were recorded with Sal's trademark vocals and style and were written by Sal and some of the best writers around including Bill Lloyd, Peter Case, Jimmy Silva and Keith Sykes. Freddie assembled a fabulous group of Austin musicians including Riley Osbourn (Willie Nelson, Doyle Bramhall Sr.) on keyboards and Paul Skelton (Cornell Hurd Band) playing some tasty guitar.
