This 26 track CD exploits the large and quirky Downey Records catalog, featuring instrumentals from young bands from Cali beach communities and as far east as Las Vegas, cabaret acts from Lake Tahoe lounges and Palm Springs, mixed in with some great R&B names who used Downey's studio and cut some fine instrumental of their own. Recorded in an experimental fashion ala Joe Meek, who was working contemporaneously in London, this CD has oodles of rare sides and 7 unreleased gems. Features The Revels, Rumblers, Nevegans, Hustlers, Chuck Higgins, Little Caesar, Del Rio Bros. and others. Includes "Comanche" from "Pulp Fiction."
