"Hokum" was a likable genre of fun music that usually featured vocals full of humorous double entendres dealing with sex, drinking and drugs, as well as fairly basic chord changes and consistently hot solos. The Hokum Boys (who were a different group than the Famous Hokum Boys) was a name used for several different bands during hokum's heyday. This CD contains 20 titles from 1927-29 recorded under the group names The Hokum Boyz, Banjo Joe, and Blind Blake & Banjo Joe. The groups feature Bob Robinson, Jimmy Blythe, Ikey Robinson, Alex Hill and Georgia Tom Dorsey.
