M'lumbo was founded in the mid-'80s by Robert "M'botto" Ray and "Zombie" Ron Boggs as an escape from commercial music. Early handmade cassettes began selling briskly at local record stores leading to radioplay on over 100 U.S. stations. Their new CD is a hommage to popular TV including The Flinstones, Addams Family, Hawaii 5 O, The Jeffersons, Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, I Dream Of Jeanie, and James Bond themes, all performed like some colonial era African Jazz Orchestra with a strong interest in the Avant-Garde who unfortunately had their drinks spiked with hallucinogenics. None of the versions on this release has ever been before released, even though some of the covers had been done in their early '90s cassettes.
