We capture Louis when he truly was the greatest jazz man alive, including cuts from the famous Hot Fives And Sevens and moving through to the time he disbanded his Big Band and formed the six piece All Stars which was to be his standard line up for the rest of his career. Also included are a number of duets with such greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Bing Crosby and Billie Holiday.
