Legendary Gulf Coast guitarist Phillip Walker got his first big break back in the early 50's as a member of Zydeco king Clifton Chenier's band. In 1959 he made the move to Los Angeles where he has remained and since accumalated a sizeable catalog including recordings for Alligator, Black Top, JSP and Hightone Records. On his Delta Groove debut Phillip explores the rich history of Louisiana, Texas and the West Coast covering classic material by Lowell Fulson, Ray Charles, Lightnin' Hopkins, Lonesome Sundown, Frankie Lee Sims and many more. Supported by the cream of the crop in California blues the disc also features Al Blake, Rusty Zinn, Jeff Turmes, Fred Kaplan, Rob Rio and Richard Innes.
