Clearly from the mainstream jazz tradition, Chicago trumpeter/composer Greg Duncan's debut adds a fresh look with a collection of originals and new standards, performed by some of the Midwest's top young talent. From the Mingus-like swagger of "Jimi Hendrix" to the modern chamber approach of "No Return", "Unveiled" contains a cohesive mix of styles and emotions ranging from bluesy and jubilant, to introspective and spiritual. In addition to his weekly gigs at Chicago's Green Mill and Mercury Theater, Duncan has become an intregal part of the scene after his arrival following graduate work at the University of North Texas and tours with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
