The two albums presented on this new Ace CD have a special place in the hearts of Andy's millions of fans, in that they were the first two that he ever released. Recorded for Cadence Records, the label that brought Andy his first chart action and that set him on the road to superstardom, "Sings Steve Allen" and "Andy Williams" offer two different sides of the perennially popular balladeer. The first mentioned is an early 'concept album', comprised exclusively of compositions by the popular US TV show host of the 1950s. The eponymous title of the second covers a collection of Andy's earliest chart 45s and their flipsides, including many favorite Top 20 hits of the rock 'n' roll era.
