Most people think of Andre Previn as a classical musician and conductor of the worlds finest classical orchestras but his repertoire is far wider and he is also a notable jazz musician. These "live" recordings from the late 1950s show him performing with his trio of noted bassist Red Mitchell and lesser known but equally talented drummer Frankie Capp who drummed with most of the major swing bands including The Stan Kenton Orchestra. Peggy King’s career has seen her sing with many notable bands from the Swing Era including: Mitch Miller, Ray Anthony, Charlie Spivak and Ralph Flanagan. This CD contains four complete The Navy Swings shows and is a true collectors item.
