Barrier Falls is the 5-String debut of Annalivia, one of latest traditional acoustic bands to emerge from the potent Boston music scene. Produced by Matt Brown and Flynn Cohen, the album features traditional music from North America, the UK and Ireland as well as an impressive array of original material. With the beautiful singing of Liz Simmons (The John Whelan Band, Long Time Courting) the stunning twin fiddling of Brendan Carey Block (Glengarry Bhoys) and Emerald Rae (The Cathy Ryan Band), and the rhythmic intensity of Flynn Cohen on guitar (Halali, Cathy Ryan, John Whelan) and Stuart Kenney on bass and banjo (Wild Asparagus, Airdance), Annalivia brings a fresh and exciting approach to traditional and contemporary songs from both sides of the Atlantic. Special guests Paddy League on percussion and John Whelan on button accordion fill out this lush and varied program of modern traditional music.
