Matt is building a tour that will include Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, Arizona and California starting in March 2010.
The renowned multi-instrumentalist, Matt Brown, releases his newest album, "My Native Home." It is a delightful mix of solo material and collaborations with Brittany Haas, Ben Krakauer, Tim O'Brien, and Mark Schatz. "My Native Home" traverses American roots music with a variety of songs from ballads to the blues. The album opens with Matt singing the haunting title track. Then Brittany Haas' fiddle leads the way into an exuberant string band dance tune, composed by Matt. "My Native Home" is interspersed with a capella songs from Pennsylvania and solo, old-time instrumentals on fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Matt Brown and Brittany Haas let loose on a jazzy, twin-fiddle rendition of Carroll County Blues.
With the same sensibility, Matt, Brittany, and Ben Krakauer deliver a memorable and funky performance of Going to Germany. Highlighting the album are Matt's two vocal duets with Tim O'Brien, which have a remarkable synergy and beauty.
