The performances on this CD cover the period from 1939, when the civilian orchestra was at its zenith, and subsequently The Army Air Forces Overseas Orchestra through to the period when Glenn’s old saxophonist and vocalist, Tex Beneke, and later Ray McKinley picked up the baton and took over the leadership of the orchestra. There are also three tracks featuring Miller luminary Norman Leyden And His Orchestra. It is of particular interest that the album features many unusual and rare tracks.
