Pianist, composer, and bandleader Charley Straight led one of Chicago’s most popular dance orchestras in the 1920s. This disc collects two dozen of Straight’s electric recordings&emdash;most of them reissued here for the first time. The accompanying 20-page booklet features detailed liner notes by Bryan Wright, rare photographs from the collection of Vince Giordano, and complete discographical information for each of the recordings. Recorded 1926-1928. 24 tracks, 73 minutes. Tracks include: Sweet Southern Breeze, What a Man, Hi-Diddle-Diddle, Talking to the Moon, Deep Henderson.
