Veteran Son Jarocho singer and musician Laura Rebolloso presents her latest project of spiritual and political-inspired Mexican poetry over luscious Jarocho-Jazz backdrops. Jaranas, requintos and leonas are woven over pianos, tarimas and bass in this poetic and artistic project celebrating folkloric Mexican music. After leaving classic Son Jarocho band Son de Madera, Laura Rebolloso began a serious study of the decima form, incorporating profound poetry into the traditional music of Veracruz, Mexico and then blending that music with Jazz and other styles. A truly unique, interesting, and beautiful album.
