Mel Torme was one of the great vocalist of the forties, fifties and sixties. known for his Jazz singing he was also a Jazz composer and arranger also a drummer, and actor in radio, film and television. He also composed the classic “Christmas Song” (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire). Here he performs on four National guard recruitment programs with the celebrated band of Shorty Rogers And His Giants. These rare recordings form an ideal addition to any serious collection.
