“Big Stick” has a mix of Latin, soul and jazz and features the talents of pianist Neil Creque. Unusual for Pucho records there is no horn section which allows the vocal chorus and the percussion to shine through. ‘Swamp People’ and ‘Left In The Cold’ make this a highly collectable album. “Dateline” does include a horn section and Pazant Brothers and Fania All-Stars member Barry Rogers creates a vibrant front line to make up for the fact that there was no vocals on this LP. This album is the absolute peak of Pucho’s recording career, and the wonderful ‘Yambo’ would still fill a dancefloor. This two-on-one is remastered from the original sources and comes with an sleeve note by project supervisor, Dean Rudland. 15 tracks in all.
