Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff in 1935 and 1936. It is based on 24 of the poems found in the medieval collection Carmina Burana. This recording of Carmina Burana dates from the zenith of André Previn's golden era at the helm of the London Symphony Orchestra and has been re-mastered from the original stereo EMI Master Tapes. Previn is accompanied on this important work by the St. Clement Danes Grammar School Boys Choir and the London Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Produced and engineered by the legendary EMI team of Christopher Bishop and Christopher Parker.
