This unusual CD is the tenth of a series featuring not only a selection of the best tunes of a specific year, in this case 1938, but also an adaptation in the form of a radio play of one of the top films of the year featuring the original artists in a “Screen Directors Playhouse” production. On this CD we feature “Jezebel” starring Bette Davis. This film won two Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actress, Fay Bainter and one for Best Actress, Bette Davis, who was given the role as a sop for missing out on the part of Scarlett O’Hara in “Gone With The Wind.”
