This CD features the Andre Kostelanetz Orchestra with a selection of
music pieces which together create the concept of the passing of time
in relation to the seasons, with the voices of spring, Summertime,
Autumn Leaves and White Christmas. Interspersed between these musical
reflections are four pieces of spoken verse, maybe the best known and
loved in the English language they compliment the tone of the music and
set the tone for the music you hear in each section of the CD.
The Spoken Pieces are: William Wordsworth’s Daffodils, Shall I Compare Thee To A Summers Day (Sonnet No. 18) by William Shakespeare, Brief Life by Ernest Dowson, from which came the line “Days of wine and roses” which
was the inspiration for the Motion Picture and the song composed by
Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer and lastly from Shakespeare's “Twelfth
Night” If Music Be The Food Of Love. A nice CD for those in a more
reflective or contemplative mood.
