Weave!'s debut breathes new life into the sound of groups like ESG, The Slits, The Mo-Dettes, Kleenex, The Raincoats, and Delta 5. The arty grinders have a respectable pedigree; Weave!'s founders, Ivory Lee Carlson (bass, vocals) and Nicole Turley (drums, vocals), spent 2007 with pickup members from around their native Los Angeles. Weave! ultimately solidified their lineup with members of The Centimeters and Bubonic Plague (on guitar and keyboard) adding a rhythmic presence to the femme-driven fervency.
