The East Nashville-based soulful duo, The Smoking Flowers, mixes rock and country with a sweet flavor of Southern Gothic folk and a punk attitude. Led by vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Kim and Scott Collins (the couple has been married for 14 years), The Smoking Flowers combine for a raw blend of vocals like Stevie Nicks with Bob Dylan… or a ballsy Civil Wars… or The White Stripes if Meg sang like a country angel. Kim bounces between accordion, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, and even drums, with Scott on electric and acoustic guitars and harmonica.
2 Guns was co-produced and engineered by Adam Landry, noted producer of Deer Tick, Middle Brother and Diamond Rugs. The album was recorded analog at Playground Sound studio in Nashville, TN on 8-track 1" tape. A single off the album, "Something I Said", was recently featured on the hit ABC show "Revenge". The band will appear on Music City Roots in Nashville hosted by Jim Lauderdale on August 21st. The "2 Guns Tour" starts in June and includes shows in Minneapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and New York City. A UK tour will follow.
