This CD features the recordings The Gerald Wilson Orchestra made for the famous “Jubilee” series of radio programs. There are two manifestations of the orchestra, the first set of recordings were made in Hollywood, California during April 1946 and the second set of recordings came from McCormack General Hospital, Pasadena, California during May 1947. The orchestras feature a host of luminaries, including Red Kelly, Snooky Young, Eddie Davis, Trummy Young, Willie Smith, Red Callender and Charles Thompson with one track featuring Mel Torme and The Meltones. A rare collectors item.
