Bluestime was started by Flying Dutchman Records in the late 1960s to cash-in on a renewed interest in the blues. In just over a year ten albums were released and we are issuing them individually on CD for the first time. "Super Black Blues" was producer Bob Thiele's attempt to emulate the all-star sessions which were popular, with the Fleetwood Mac-led 'Blues Jam In Chicago' in particular. He assembled three stars he had signed to the label: Big Joe Turner, T-Bone Walker and Otis Spann, all three highly influential players within the blues sphere.
