The never-before-released Jobriath material which makes up As The River Flows is culled from two 1971 sessions: one at New York's Electric Lady (with guest appearances by members of the original Broadway cast of Hair) and another recorded in Los Angeles by legendary production team Richie Podolor and Bill Cooper (Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf). These latter tracks feature Jobriath alone at the piano and are truly exquisite, an improvisational, witty and heartbreaking performance that shows of Jobriath's piano, vocal and star performing chops.
