"Bop Me Daddy" and "Drum Stuff", recorded in 1956 and 1957 for Tampa Records, two albums showcasing the tenor work of Plas Johnson with his brother Ray on piano. Plas is playing in the manner of of such players as Lee Allen, Al Sears, Hal Singer, Sam Taylor, Jimmy Wright, etc. George Jenkins, Lionel Hampton's drummer for most of the 40's is also featured. Half of this CD, "Drum Stuff" was originally recorded and released under George Jenkins' leadership. Includes all of Plas's hits from the mid 50's: "Last Call", "Plasma", "Blue Jean Shuffle". Ray Johnson provides some great boogie woogie and jazz riffs, while George Jenkins exuberant playing exemplifies his work with Lionel Hampton and later Charlie Barnet.
