The sound of his backing band the Movement was as integral to the success of Isaac Hayes as his songs and performances. When he founded his own label Hot Buttered Soul in 1975 he was quick to record the Movement as an act in their own right, on what turned out to be their one and only solo album. "Disco Connection" is - despite its title - not an all-out disco album, but its title track became one of the biggest global club hits of 1976 and gave Isaac Hayes (and the Movement) a deserved UK Top 10. It went to #60 in the US.
